Affordable Apartments Going Up in San Antonio’s VIDA

Cleveland-based affordability housing developer NRP Group has broken ground on Los Arcos, a 324-unit affordable housing community. It will be in the 600-acre VIDA mixed-use development in San Antonio.

Residences will be reserved for those earning between 30 and 70 percent of the area median income.Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, community garden, business center, clubhouse lounge, children’s activity room, and playgrounds. The Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs provided $36 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) for the project’s financing.

Los Arcos is slated for a late 2024 completion. The VIDA project, near the University of Texas, San Antonio, will consist of 600 acres and include 1,400 rental units, 1,000 student housing units, one million square feet of commercial construction and a 40-acre town center and a 35-acre greenway. In addition, there will be a community pool and clubhouse. It’s slated to be completed n 2034.
