Hunters Point Housing Development Receives $6M Grant

New York-based development and investment firm Jonathan Rose Companies and non-profit senior advocate Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services have been awarded a $5.9 million grant from California’s Department of Housing and Community Development. The grant will be used to develop the Hunters Point Shipyard project in San Francisco.

“We are committed to creating high-quality, affordable housing for everyone, especially as the need continues to rise in California and nationwide,” said Jonathan Rose Companies’ Sara White. “We are glad to receive this grant from the state and look forward to bringing San Francisco residents the affordable and sustainable development they deserve.”

Hunters Point Shipyard Blocks 52 and 54 is a 112-unit, multifamily project that will feature a community room and lounge, fitness room and a resident services office. The development’s design will also be low-carbon and energy and water efficient. The project is expected to break ground in May of 2023 with completion in June 2025.
