Nuveen Real Estate, WMATA Agree on 90K-SF Industrial Lease in Landover

Landlord Nuveen Real Estate has signed a lease with The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for 90,473 square feet of space located at 6304 Sheriff Road in Landover, MD.

Kenneth Fellows, Robert Pugh and Keiry Martinez of commercial real estate firm Edge (recently acquired by KLNB) represented the tenant in the transaction.

“6304 Sheriff Road satisfied each important criteria in WMATA’s real estate search,” said Pugh. “This includes the building’s open floorplate, high ceilings and rear loading capabilities which are necessary for the movement of large pieces of equipment.”

WMATA is a government agency with oversight of the mass transit system that operates throughout the greater Washington, DC metropolitan region including MA and VA. The authority, which also operates the DC Circulator bus system through a public-private partnership, plans to utilize the space for the storage and repair of its fleet of transportation equipment and elevators.
